Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Food Services Manager, offering the benefits of working in an academic setting, including generous holiday allowances, manageable working hours, and a fulfilling work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire food services operation within the academy, enhancing the catering offerings to provide nutritious, high-quality meals that comply with established Nutritional Standards.
  • Plan, prepare, cook, and present meals in accordance with Food Safety Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Maintain the academy's esteemed reputation for exceptional food quality and service.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, ensuring food costs align with financial plans, and support the procurement of necessary goods and services.
  • Set objectives and manage daily operations, including supervising the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Lead a team of culinary professionals and support staff, addressing any operational challenges that may arise.
  • Conduct Food Safety and Health & Safety Risk Assessments, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards as per company policies.
  • Manage food inventory levels and complete stock returns punctually.
  • Verify delivery notes against orders and report any discrepancies to suppliers promptly.
  • Adhere to the academy's Child Safeguarding Procedures, maintaining regular communication with designated safeguarding personnel regarding any concerns.

Working Conditions:

This position operates on a term-time basis, encompassing 38 weeks of work per year, with designated non-working periods aligned with academic schedules. The role is full-time, requiring 35 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene certification.
  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation that meets quality, cost, and health and safety standards.
  • A valid driving license is highly desirable for potential travel to various sites for training and support.
