About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wordings Specialist to join our team at Hiscox. As a key member of our Contract Wordings team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the coverage and wordings within the Lloyd's Market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead wordings and coverage discussions on existing and new products, ensuring that the underwriting intention is clear and commercially attractive to clients.
  • Draft new products in plain English, ensuring that the underwriting intention is clear and concise.
  • Attend Broker and Client meetings with underwriters to provide guidance and expertise on specific coverage elements of products.
  • Provide extensive liaison with underwriters on a day-to-day basis to provide guidance on coverage issues and assistance with risk management.
  • Research potential coverage issues and produce reports on findings.
  • Provide technical training for underwriters and other wordings specialists within Hiscox.
  • Represent Hiscox at external market meetings.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five years' wordings-related experience gained in an insurance, reinsurance, or law firm.
  • Excellent contract drafting skills, including sound knowledge of English grammar and sentence construction.
  • A law degree or legal experience involving reviewing and preparing legal contracts is desirable.
  • A degree in a suitable subject or insurance qualifications is also desirable.
