Position Overview

We are looking for a committed and skilled Lead Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to become part of our esteemed educational institution.

Key Responsibilities

This role is essential in ensuring that all students with additional learning requirements make significant progress and achieve their utmost potential.

  • Deliver Tailored Support: Design and implement high-quality intervention strategies that cater to the unique needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), promoting enhanced learning outcomes.
  • Uphold High Standards: Advocate for elevated expectations and embody the academy's vision, values, and objectives.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work as an integral member of the School Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to the strategic planning aligned with the Academy Improvement Plan.
  • Leadership in SEND: Provide guidance in addressing the needs of children with SEND and oversee the school's self-assessment in this domain.
  • Support Staff Development: Mentor and assist support staff to ensure exceptional provision for students with SEND.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate assessment data to inform comprehensive school planning and resource distribution.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • National Award for SEN Coordination qualification (NASENCO).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, including relevant courses, training, action research, and personal study, with clear indicators of impact.
