Teaching Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Newby & Scalby Primary School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students, both individually and in small groups, under the direction of our pastoral and SENCO leader.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in their learning, both individually and in small groups
  • Assist with the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for students
  • Develop positive working relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and other professionals
  • Be willing to undertake and act on relevant professional development and training
  • Have high expectations of learning and behavior and inspire and motivate students
  • Be supportive, nurturing, and understanding
  • Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, both orally and in writing
