Role Overview: 4D Visualiser/Planner

The primary responsibility of a 4D Construction Specialist at Sir Robert McAlpine includes:

  • Facilitating the development, verification, and updating of construction sequences, logistics, and timelines through 4D or similar methodologies.
  • Comparing the 'planned' position with the 'actual' position at specified intervals.
  • Creating visuals and animations to effectively convey and illustrate logistics, access routes, laydown areas, and progress comparisons in an engaging manner for various stakeholders.
  • In addition to possessing the necessary technical skills and software proficiency, such as programme validation, the candidate should excel in presenting, training, and problem-solving to inspire our teams and consultants to leverage the advantages of 4D in their roles.
  • Championing our business philosophy by aligning with our values and collaborating with all internal departments to ensure adherence to the mandated Digital Construction strategy.

Candidate Profile

  • Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Familiarity with the engineering and construction sectors, particularly in complex major projects.
  • Thorough understanding of planning techniques and their integration with construction methodologies and logistics.
  • Extensive CAD modelling experience in AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, or equivalent software.
  • Proficient in delivering training and presentations on Synchro OpenViewer to promote the use of 4D.
  • Highly organized with a proactive approach to responsibility.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage work pressures effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both visually and verbally.
  • A flexible work attitude, embodying a collaborative team spirit.
  • HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Expertise in relevant modelling tools.
  • Construction technical knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of temporary works and the ability to represent during model production.
  • Understanding of various construction methodologies and buildability.
