Role Overview: 4D Planner/Visualiser
The primary responsibility of the 4D Construction Specialist at Sir Robert McAlpine includes:
- Facilitating the development, verification, and enhancement of construction sequences, logistics, and timelines through 4D or comparable methodologies.
- Comparing the 'planned' status with the 'actual' status at specified intervals.
- Creating visuals and animations to effectively convey and illustrate logistics, access routes, laydown areas, and progress comparisons in an engaging manner for various stakeholders.
- In addition to possessing the necessary technical acumen and software proficiency, such as programme validation, the candidate should be adept at conducting presentations, training sessions, and problem-solving to inspire and guide our teams and consultants in leveraging 4D effectively.
- Championing our business philosophy by aligning with our core values and collaborating with all internal divisions to ensure adherence to the Digital Construction strategy.
Candidate Profile
- Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Familiarity with the engineering and/or construction sectors, particularly in relation to complex major projects.
- Thorough understanding of planning techniques and their integration with construction methodologies and logistics.
- Extensive experience in CAD modelling using AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, or similar software.
- Proficient in delivering training and presentations on Synchro OpenViewer to promote the adoption of 4D practices.
- Highly organized with a proactive approach to responsibility.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage work-related pressures effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both visually and verbally.
- Adaptable and collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Expertise in relevant modelling tools.
- Technical knowledge of construction practices.
- Understanding of temporary works and the capability to represent during model production.
- Knowledge of various construction methodologies and their practical applications.
