Role Overview: 4D Visualiser/Planner

The primary responsibilities of a 4D Construction Specialist at Sir Robert McAlpine include:

  • Facilitating the development, verification, and updating of construction sequences, logistics, and timelines through 4D or similar methodologies.
  • Comparing the 'planned' construction status with the 'actual' status at specified intervals.
  • Creating visual representations and animations to effectively communicate logistics, access routes, laydown areas, and progress comparisons to various stakeholders.
  • Possessing not only the necessary technical skills and software proficiency but also the ability to engage in training and problem-solving to encourage the effective use of 4D techniques among team members.
  • Promoting the company's values and collaborating with all internal departments to ensure alignment with the mandated Digital Construction strategy.

Candidate Profile

  • Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Familiarity with the engineering and construction sectors, particularly in relation to complex major projects.
  • Thorough understanding of planning methodologies and their connection to construction practices and logistics.
  • Extensive experience in CAD modeling using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or 3DS Max.
  • Proficient in delivering training and presentations on Synchro OpenViewer to promote 4D utilization.
  • Highly organized with a proactive approach to responsibility.
  • Strong prioritization and workload management skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both visually and verbally.
  • A flexible mindset and a collaborative team player attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications such as HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Expertise in relevant modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of construction technicalities.
  • Understanding of temporary works and the ability to represent during model development.
  • Awareness of various construction methodologies and their practical applications.
