Our client is seeking an Environmental Consultant to provide essential support in environmental matters on a contract basis.

  • Position: Environmental Consultant
  • Location: Office-based role
  • Compensation: Competitive rate based on experience
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Position Purpose:

We are in search of a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Quality, Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (QSSHE) team. This role involves delivering competent environmental support to both onshore and offshore operations, ensuring comprehensive understanding of environmental obligations. You will be tasked with identifying risks, controls, and mitigation strategies throughout various stages, from operations to decommissioning, including project and drilling phases.

This position is structured as a full-time contract role, with potential travel to offshore facilities or onshore terminals as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Environmental Consultant for multiple operational platforms and subsea tiebacks.
  • Oversee management of all relevant environmental permits.
  • Provide technical expertise for Terminal Environmental Operations.
  • Develop an Environmental Management Plan outlining key initiatives and milestones aligned with ISO14001 standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of ISO14001:2015 compliance.
  • Conduct scheduled audits and inspections.
  • Manage regulatory relationships with relevant authorities.
  • Ensure timely submission of all necessary internal and external reports.
  • Advise on compliance with environmental policies and legislation.
  • Monitor and assess changes in environmental legislation and their potential business impacts.
  • Conduct site visits and audits as required.
  • Maintain operational emergency plans.
  • Participate as a member of the Incident Management Team.
  • Provide input on the environmental aspects of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) budget.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in the environmental sector, particularly within offshore upstream Oil & Gas operations.
  • Broad knowledge encompassing offshore production, subsea operations, drilling, and well intervention.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK regulatory environmental framework.
  • Familiarity with emissions management and trading schemes related to offshore activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Degree in Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISO14001 auditor certification.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards.
  • Relevant safety training certifications.
