The Opportunity

Water Resources East (WRE) is seeking an experienced and confident stakeholder engagement professional to support the Technical Director and technical team in planning and delivering a program of stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with regulators, water companies, farming, energy, and environmental groups, internal drainage boards, catchment partnerships, and leading consultancies to drive forward a program of catchment and sub-catchment scale Environmental Destination investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct day-to-day leadership of a stakeholder engagement program that successfully delivers the Environmental Destination (ED) investigations.
  • Promoting and facilitating multi-sector involvement at all stages of the program.
  • Building trust between all parties involved in the program to support the development of collaborative solutions and reach consensus around environmental aims.
  • Creating an engagement program that leads to shared decision-making and prioritization of environmental improvements and investment within catchments.
  • Bridging the gap between technical work and collaborative decision-making.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Acting as WRE's lead point of contact with agricultural sector representatives.
  • Supporting the Water for Food Group with the development of a Water Abstractor Group (WAG) toolkit.
  • Supporting Local Resource Option (LRO) screening studies.
  • Running WRE's Agriculture Forum.
  • Supporting the team in the day-to-day running of the 'virtual' office.
