Work Arrangement:

Job Type:

Permanent position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a Smart Metering Senior Performance Analyst to join our Performance and Analytical Reporting team. This role is crucial in enhancing our service delivery to customers.

About Us:

At Yorkshire Water, we ensure that over 5.4 million residents and visitors have access to clean and safe drinking water, while effectively managing wastewater services. Our commitment extends beyond service provision; we prioritize community welfare and environmental protection.

With evolving environmental regulations and increased investment, we are poised for growth and innovation in the water industry.

Our strategic goal includes reducing leakage, per capita consumption, and non-household demand, with plans to replace 1.3 million customer meters with smart meters and install an additional ~160,000 meters. This transition will enable us to monitor water usage in real-time, enhancing our operational efficiency.

To fully utilize this data, we are establishing a dedicated team focused on service improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovative offerings. This team will design and implement the necessary processes and analytics to prepare for smart metering by 2025.

Your Role:

As the Smart Metering Senior Performance Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and oversee the strategy for smart metering reporting to facilitate demand reduction and effective contract management.
  • Lead self-service data analytics initiatives using SQL and Power BI to create essential reports for the smart metering program.
  • Design and implement monthly KPI reporting and business processes to monitor supplier and contractor performance.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across all corporate systems related to metering.
  • Manage the delivery of the smart metering reporting roadmap in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Continuously improve existing smart metering reports, automating manual processes where feasible.
  • Provide line management to foster a high-performing team using the Performance Excellence framework.
  • Support necessary business changes to ensure the successful integration of metering technologies for stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience with complex data sets and analytical models.
  • Proficient in SQL data analysis or willingness to learn (MS-SQL/Databricks - T-SQL, view and table design).
  • Strong experience with IT systems, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Exceptional analytical skills as a Data Analyst.
  • Experience in data management and manipulation.
  • Ability to review the work of others and build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and business transformation.
  • Background in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of smart metering technologies.
  • Understanding of leakage and per capita consumption metrics.
