About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People. As a key member of our neurorehabilitation team, you will work with clients who have acquired brain injury, incomplete spinal injury, or stroke, providing expert therapy input to maximize their functional independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions, including access and home visit assessments, to implement appropriate aids and equipment.
  • Act as a key worker for clients, supporting their rehabilitation, stay, and discharge plans.
  • Hold responsibility for your own caseload and contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of an effective and efficient service.
  • Supervise and mentor junior therapists, students, and therapy support workers as required.
  • Set and achieve short- and long-term goals for clients, leading and assisting in splinting as necessary.
  • Integrate and monitor treatment programs in clients' environments, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the assessment of wheelchair seating requirements and keep up-to-date with professional developments.
Person Specification
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Membership of the Health Professions Council.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses and continuous professional development.
  • Membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapists and the College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Post-qualification experience working with physical disability and neurological rehabilitation.
  • Experience in administering standardized assessments and clinical reasoning.
  • Experience with manual handling and working in a multidisciplinary team.
