About the Role
Join Major Ashford Healthcare as a Lead Residential Care Practitioner, where our mission is to transform the lives of children through exceptional specialized services. We are seeking dedicated individuals to work in a residential special educational needs facility catering to young individuals aged 10 to 16 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Residential Care Practitioner, you will:
• Collaborate closely with educational staff to deliver a comprehensive 24-hour curriculum tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Participate in a structured rota system, which is communicated on a half-termly basis.
• Engage in two day shifts (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM) and three evening shifts (2:30 PM to 10:45 PM) each week.
• Fulfill sleeping-in duties, compensated at the current NJC Sleeping-in Duty rate.
• Provide nurturing support, acting as a professional parent to help children achieve remarkable outcomes and receive therapeutic, Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) and complex trauma support.

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Services (CYPS).
• The willingness and capability to administer medication.
• Experience in a supervisory or shift lead capacity.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation governing residential special schools.
