Position Overview

ClassRoom Support is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to enhance our supportive educational atmosphere.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), ensuring that every student has an empowering and inclusive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized one-on-one assistance to students with ASD and/or ADHD, addressing their unique needs within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with educators to develop and implement tailored learning strategies and behavior management plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Establish a secure and encouraging environment that fosters the social and emotional health of students.
  • Assist in creating educational resources and materials that cater specifically to the requirements of students with ASD and/or ADHD.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and other professionals involved in the students' education to promote a comprehensive approach to their learning and wellbeing.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals diagnosed with ASD and/or ADHD is required.
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs support techniques and a dedication to fostering an inclusive educational setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building constructive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Relevant certifications or training in the field of Special Educational Needs is preferred.
Daily Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students during lessons, ensuring their full engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers to promote the inclusion of students in all facets of school activities.
  • Track and document student progress, contributing to the ongoing review and enhancement of their individual support plans.
  • Encourage a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering respect and understanding among all students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.
