Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Band 5 Clinical Imaging Specialist to deliver a variety of medical imaging services to a diverse clinical team. This role involves working across multiple locations and engaging with several active clinics, including specialized services that support critical medical assessments.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Medical Imaging or Photography, complemented by relevant practical experience or a willingness to pursue further training. Additionally, it is preferred that the candidate is registered or eligible for registration with a recognized professional body. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud, is essential. A comprehensive understanding of digital imaging technology and effective management of clinical images for patient records is also required.

Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation, efficiency, and resourcefulness, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as collaboration within a small professional team is vital. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain composure in a dynamic clinical setting is crucial. A meticulous approach to achieving high standards of work is a fundamental requirement.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a range of Clinical Imaging tasks, including capturing images of medical, dental, and surgical conditions that are integral to patient confidentiality and may be utilized in legal contexts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Executing various clinical imaging requests while utilizing well-equipped, modern facilities.
  • Managing personal imaging workflow, including task allocation, target setting, and prioritization to ensure efficient delivery of imaging services.
  • Adhering to all organizational policies, including those related to health records, ensuring documentation is maintained and confidentiality is upheld.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of comprehensive imaging policies across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging or Photography.
  • Strong technical knowledge of digital imaging processes.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop software.

Desirable

  • Registration with a professional body.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management systems.
  • Familiarity with color management in digital photography.

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work demands.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and clinical staff.

Desirable

  • Experience in general photography practices.
  • Familiarity with dermatoscopic imaging (training will be provided).
