Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within medical admissions areas and support the safe and effective use of antimicrobials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within medical admissions areas
  • Support the safe and effective use of antimicrobials
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance antimicrobial use
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programs
Requirements
  • Masters of Pharmacy Degree
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice
  • Demonstrable experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to a defined patient group
  • Experience in patient information/education
  • Experience in supervising staff
  • Ability to effectively monitor patients' therapeutic regimens
  • Clinical pharmacy/care planning skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant post-registration experience
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload
Working Arrangements

This role will be based in a hospital setting and will require the successful candidate to work a standard full-time schedule.
