**The Role:**

The Associate Structural Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day design and project management of projects, working closely with a Project Manager and/or Lead Engineer role. As a key member of the Building Structures team, you will oversee and manage a small number of engineers and technicians working directly on projects. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in providing guidance and support to junior team members as part of their training and development.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  1. Lead the design and project management of projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  2. Manage a small team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  4. Contribute to the development of project proposals, bids, and tenders, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and requirements.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  6. Develop and implement effective project management strategies, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing costs.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the team.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Chartered Engineer status, with relevant post-qualification experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Experience in large energy transmission and distribution projects, or heavy industrial projects, would be an advantage.
