Job Title: Placement Civil Construction Engineer

Farrans (Construction) Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Placement Civil Construction Engineer to join our team. As a Placement Civil Construction Engineer, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading construction company known for its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Placement Civil Construction Engineer to work on various construction projects across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking surveys and setting-out on site, preparing drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to, monitoring construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met, and liaising with clients and carrying out site investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake surveys and setting-out on site to ensure accurate measurements and layouts.
  2. Prepare drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to for engineering.
  3. Monitor construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met and report any issues to senior engineers.
  4. Liaise with clients and carry out site investigations to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications.
  5. Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications.
  6. Liaise with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials.
  7. Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
Requirements:
  1. Studying a Civil or Construction/Project Management Degree.
  2. Hold a full UK driving license.
  3. Passionate about starting a career in the civils industry.
  4. High attention to detail coupled with meticulous planning and organisational skills.
  5. Demonstrate a strong interest in all aspects of engineering and looking for a dynamic workplace that provides an outstanding career opportunity.
  6. Excellent communication skills, ability to work flexibly in a team, and be a hard worker.
