Overview
We are thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for a Culinary Operations Manager to become part of our vibrant charity dedicated to enhancing social mobility. Our mission is to eliminate obstacles that hinder children and young people from experiencing the wonders of the natural environment. Through immersive experiences on our heritage farms, participants engage in hands-on learning, foster connections, and enhance their overall well-being while developing a strong sense of environmental stewardship.
What We Provide
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive starting salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
- 25 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays
- 6% employer contribution to the pension scheme
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
Role Responsibilities
As a passionate advocate for nutrition and sustainable sourcing, this senior position is vital for the smooth operation of a bustling kitchen that serves three wholesome meals daily to a large residential group of children and their adult companions. Collaborating closely with the Farm School Manager, Office Manager, Kitchen Assistants, and General Assistants, you will ensure that the dietary needs of our guests are met while upholding the highest standards of nutrition, food quality, hygiene, and safety.
In our farm setting, where we maintain an extensive kitchen garden, the Culinary Operations Manager plays a crucial role in the overall management of the site. You will work in tandem with the Farm Operations Team to maximize the use of our homegrown produce, making clear connections between food production and farming for our visiting groups.
This position involves regular interaction with our guests, including leading engaging cooking sessions that inspire children and connect them to their experiences on the farm or in the garden. You will also play a key role in welcoming guests upon their arrival, guiding them through their induction, and fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout their stay. We take pride in our ability to accommodate a diverse range of dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
Additional Information
This is primarily a farm-based role, requiring minimal travel for training or meetings within our charity's regions.
For comprehensive details about the position, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification and Job Information Pack.
Our organization is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will undergo a thorough background check and must provide satisfactory references.
We are dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity, and we encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
