Position Overview
Recovery Facilitator - Alcohol Support Team
Are you passionate about fostering positive change in the lives of individuals and communities? Turning Point's alcohol and substance misuse services are currently undergoing significant growth, fueled by new funding and investment opportunities.
As a Recovery Facilitator, you will receive a competitive starting salary of £24,150, with the potential for annual salary increases up to £28,252. Depending on your experience, you may be offered a starting salary above the initial figure.
We provide a clear pathway for career advancement, with structured training programs designed to help you achieve your professional aspirations and leverage your strengths.
Whether your goal is to move into a leadership position or to specialize as an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner, Turning Point is committed to supporting your career development.
Key Responsibilities
Recovery Facilitators serve as 'key workers' for a designated group of service users, assisting them in setting treatment goals and creating actionable plans to reach those objectives. Your responsibilities will include maintaining regular communication with clients, providing guidance, information, and psycho-social support, as well as conducting assessments and risk management planning in collaboration with our clinical team and partner organizations. Each day will present unique challenges, requiring effective communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a strong commitment to the values upheld by Turning Point.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of substance and alcohol use, along with the challenges faced by individuals on their recovery journey. We also recognize that many candidates may bring valuable skills from other sectors, such as mental health, housing, or broader health and social care environments. Flexibility, the ability to work dynamically both individually and in group settings, and knowledge of relapse prevention and other recovery barriers are essential. We seek individuals with excellent communication abilities who align with our organizational values. We welcome candidates with lived experience as well as those new to this field; our Trainee Recovery Facilitator program offers entry-level opportunities for individuals to gain experience before advancing to other roles.
We value creativity and initiative, and regardless of your position, you will play a vital role in identifying ways to enhance our services and improve the experience of those we serve. Your insights will be valued, and we will strive to implement your suggestions whenever feasible. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you develop your skills, and our learning culture encourages everyone to stay informed about the latest advancements in the field, driving continuous service improvement.
