Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical OT Lead to join our Community Therapy team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our occupational therapy service, ensuring high standards and quality of care are delivered to our service users and carers.

Main Duties
  • Lead and manage a team of occupational therapists, providing clinical supervision and guidance to ensure high-quality care is delivered.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care for our patients.
  • Conduct advanced assessments of patients with complex physical, psychological, cognitive, and social conditions, using advanced questioning and communication skills to provide a diagnosis and prognosis.
  • Provide clinical expertise and supervision to Registered Professionals within the Baywide locality, maintaining the required standard of practice and clinical governance.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Care Homes commissioned to provide social care, ensuring high-quality services are delivered to our patients.
  • Ensure patients/carers/service users/the public are involved in decision-making processes, making appropriate time and resources available.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of both clinical and managerial policies and protocols for the Care Group.

Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience in a range of specialties, including care of the older people/community/intermediate care.
  • Mental Capacity Act training.
  • Safeguarding Adults Training.
  • Clinical educator course.
Desirable
  • MSC in a relevant clinical area.
  • Management/leadership qualification.
