About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join our expanding team at Moira. As a key member of our highway design and drainage team, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding graduate engineers and engineering technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and guide graduate engineers and engineering technicians in highway design and drainage
  • Support the current workload and help develop the skills of your team to meet client demands and achieve business goals
  • Manage multiple projects and clients while supporting the Directors in achieving excellence across the group
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across all locations to deliver high-quality projects
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in highway design and drainage
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Causeway Flow or equivalent design software
  • Skilled in producing detailed drainage and highway calculations and sketches
  • Familiarity with CIRIA design guides, BRE digest, BS EN752, and Design and Construction Guidance
  • Experience with adoptable standards (Section 278, Section 38, and 104)
  • Commercial awareness of costing, budgets, and quotations
  • Strong report writing abilities
  • Site visit experience to ensure construction aligns with drawings
  • Ability to prepare specifications
