About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Shop Manager to join our team at Dorothy House. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in the management of the shop, including stock control, visual merchandising, and customer service.
  • Lead and motivate a team of retail staff, providing guidance and training to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth and increase sales revenue.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and minimizing stock losses.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of the shop's visual merchandising and display standards.
  • Ensure the shop is maintained to a high standard, including cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members.
  • Contribute to the development of the shop's business plan and budget.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity shop environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Basic knowledge of retail systems and procedures, including stock control and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
