MWH Treatment, a leading provider of water and wastewater solutions within the RSK Group, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our growing team.

As part of Northumbrian Water's (NWL) new Living Water Enterprise Organisation, we are embarking on an exciting journey with a significant program of work valued at approximately £280 million across diverse water and wastewater projects. This role will be based primarily in the Essex & Suffolk region, reporting directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Design Management).

Your Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) throughout the design process, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Proactively identify and manage H&S hazards, effectively communicating residual risks to all stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor the Design team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional customer service and achieving project objectives.
  • Take ownership of design expenditure, driving efficiency and managing overall outturn costs by adhering to allocated resource hours and key deadlines.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Design Management Plans, providing regular status updates to ensure transparency and progress tracking.
  • Actively participate in program, project, and technical meetings, contributing valuable insights and expertise.
  • Ensure the technical solutions delivered are cost-effective, maintain high quality standards, and meet project timelines.
  • Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning phases as required.
  • Uphold rigorous quality assurance procedures, ensuring all technical work adheres to established standards and specifications.
  • Contribute to achieving sustainability targets by minimizing the embodied and operational carbon footprint of solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse teams from partner organizations, leveraging their expertise while sharing your own knowledge and experience.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service both internally and externally, building strong relationships with clients, partners, and the wider community.
  • Represent MWH Treatment and the RSK Group professionally in all client interactions, upholding our reputation for excellence.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, fostering open communication and constructive feedback.
