Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance and Repair
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, including rewiring and component replacement, to ensure equipment reliability.
Fault Finding and Troubleshooting
  • Utilize advanced fault-finding techniques to quickly identify and rectify issues within the production line.
  • Work closely with the production team to understand recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Compliance and Safety
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and safety checks performed.
Installation and Upgrades
  • Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to upgrade or modify existing equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
Team Collaboration
  • Work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary to source parts and services.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
  2. Strong experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficient in fault finding and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
  4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  5. Proactive approach to maintenance and a keen interest in improving systems and processes.
