Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Basic working hours 6am hours per week

Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at our Scunthorpe depot. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

The Role:
  1. Reporting to the operations manager
  2. Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  3. Fault finding and rectification
  4. Periodic service and maintenance
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions
  6. Work with a variety of plant and equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, overhead cranes, saws, drills, shot blasters, rebar processing machines, etc.
  7. Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary
The Candidate:
  1. Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
  2. Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
  3. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  4. Able to work in a fast-paced pressurized environment
  5. Must have a good command of the English language
  6. Must be a good timekeeper
