Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd as a Senior Play and Recreation Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a Local Authority in a borough to assist with the appointment of a Senior Play and Recreation Manager on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Delivery: To develop and deliver high-quality play and recreation programs for children and young people, parents, and carers in playgrounds and parks in the borough, in order to achieve the aims and goals of relevant corporate plans and strategies.
  • Facility Management: To manage the day-to-day operation and development of an open-access play facility and play workers delivering play opportunities to children and young people of school age.
  • Leadership and Team Management: To take the lead in the front-line delivery of a program of adventure play activities, working directly with children and young people to support their personal development and contributing to the achievement of relevant corporate targets.
  • Community Engagement: To actively participate in the annual program planning process to ensure a varied and interesting range of activities for young people, and to promote children and young people's participation in all aspects of planning, monitoring, and evaluating activity.
  • Partnership Working: To work in partnership with other agencies, such as schools, voluntary sector partners, and council departments, to deliver high-quality services to children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Possess a recognized youth work and/or playwork qualification (NVQ level 3) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of health and safety relating to working with and providing services for children and young people, and experience of developing, facilitating, and delivering adventure play activities and facilities for children and/or young people.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, parents, and carers, as well as other agencies and stakeholders.
