About the Role

We are looking for an individual who can identify risks and develop effective fire protection solutions to support our mega-infrastructure projects, such as the Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire Risk Assessment
    • Analyse 3D models and identify combustible materials in various areas
    • Perform temperature change calculations for simulated fires using MAGIC software
    • Assess risk of damage to systems and monitor changes issued by engineering teams
  • Fire Protection
    • Recommend protection solutions to prevent or minimize fire outbreaks
    • Divide buildings into zones for fire protection purposes
    • Recommend fire detection and firefighting methods for quick detection and response
    • Perform fire protection calculations using specific software
    • Assess and justify departures from BS9999
  • Qualifications and Skills
    • Qualification to degree level or equivalent in safety and/or fire protection technologies
    • Knowledge of ETC-F and UK Fire Regulations, including BS9999
    • Experience with calculation tools and software, such as MAGIC
    • Ability to propose fire protection and detection solutions

Security Clearance

Candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) due to the nature of the work.
