Nuclear Protective Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Nuclear Protective Security Inspector to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR). As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the civil nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Regulate security across the civil nuclear industry, ensuring duty holders comply with legislation and that operations are safe and secure.
- Assess security plans and visit duty holders to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Have a wide-ranging role covering all aspects of physical security, personnel security, and nuclear transport security.
- Lead and shape our society's future use of nuclear technology.
- A good honours degree, an accredited Level 6 qualification or equivalent in a security subject appropriate to the role.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. the Security Institute), or equivalent experience.
- Highly experienced protective security practitioner with good knowledge of risk management.
- Competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £68,954 - £79,219 (plus £4,052 London Weighting Allowance if applicable).
- Eligibility for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits).
