About the Role:

EdEx Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Unqualified Mental Health Assistant at a fantastic Secondary School in Hackney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
  • Work alongside a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to deliver high-quality support to students.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering materials centered around core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Lead 1:1 and small group interventions to target pupil progress and improve outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A graduate holding a 1st Class degree or 2:1 in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with children and SEN/SEMH needs.
  • A good understanding of the current curriculum and educational policies.
  • A passion for working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives.
