About the Role:

EdEx Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly-regarded Secondary School in Newham, providing support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs, including ASD, ADHD, SpLD, and more.
  • Work alongside a conscientious team of teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff.
  • Liaise with the SENCO in relation to students requiring additional support.
  • Assist class teachers with delivering material centered around the core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
  • Lead 1:1 and small group interventions targeting pupil progress.

Requirements:

  • A graduate holding a 1st Class degree or 2:1.
  • Experience working with children and SEN/SEMH needs.
  • A good understanding of the current curriculum.
  • A passion for working with young people.
