About the Role

Refine Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning Policy Officer to join our client's Development Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the planning policy framework in a vibrant area with a rich history and natural beauty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement planning policies that align with national and regional guidelines.
  • Lead complex planning policy projects from start to finish, conducting public consultations and engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Perform in-depth research and data analysis to inform policymaking, generating comprehensive reports and presentations for council sessions and external parties.
  • Collaborate with the Development Control team to ensure adherence to policies, representing the Council at public inquiries and hearings.
  • Provide expert planning policy advice to council members and the public, guiding and assisting junior planning officers in the department.
Requirements
  • A degree in planning or a related discipline.
  • Preferably a Licentiate or full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Working Style

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. The working style is hybrid, with a mix of remote and office-based work.

Salary

The salary for this role is competitive, with a PAYE rate of £43.91 per hour and an umbrella/Ltd rate of £55.00 per hour.
