About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our dynamic team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Emergency Assessment Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our team to deliver exceptional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Emergency Assessment Unit, ensuring the smooth functioning of the department.
  • Develop and implement joint protocols for the management of emergency medical admissions with the nursing team and clinical colleagues.
  • Supervise junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  • Collaborate with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines, promoting high-quality patient care.
  • Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • CCT in G(I)M with sub-specialty training in acute medicine (or equivalent).
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
