As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the International Consumer Bank, you will serve as a respected engineering authority, leading a team of engineers. Your technical expertise will guide your squad's implementation strategies, and your confidence will enable you to challenge architectural decisions while maintaining a focus on delivering initiatives that provide tangible customer value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of core components within the Invest Tribe at Chase UK.

• Manage an engineering squad; establish clear objectives, support professional growth, and enhance the team's delivery capabilities.

• Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent projects, manage dependencies, and address obstacles.

• Collaborate with Product to co-own a set of comprehensive technical and customer use cases, encompassing both user journeys and back-office functionalities.

• Partner with Product peers to create a strategic roadmap that aligns with business goals, manages technical debt, and supports operational teams.

• Work alongside Technical Leads and Principal Engineers to devise robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.

• Establish effective delivery ceremonies and maintain a strong agile rhythm. Assess and enhance the team's delivery performance.

• Utilize a data-driven approach; define and monitor metrics related to delivery, system health, and customer experiences.

• Promote an inclusive culture of high-quality engineering within your team and across the organization, implementing best practices and striving for excellence in engineering standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Formal training or certification in team management principles with extensive experience.

• A collaborative team player with a strong technical foundation, focused on achieving optimal outcomes in partnership with peers who possess equally strong technical perspectives.

• A business-oriented mindset, capable of interpreting business and product requirements to devise effective engineering solutions.

• An innovative mindset, willing to challenge the status quo to accelerate the achievement of business objectives.

• Significant experience with a JVM language.

• Proven expertise in automating deployment, releases, and testing within continuous integration and continuous delivery frameworks.

• A successful history of designing and managing microservices utilizing Cloud technologies and event-driven architectures.

• Strong leadership qualities, with a focus on attracting, retaining, and developing talent to create a highly effective delivery team.
