Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Workonblockchain. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the application support and DevOps/WebOps teams, ensuring the maintenance and support of both internal and public-facing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the application support and DevOps/WebOps teams, ensuring the maintenance and support of both internal and public-facing systems.
  2. Transition the team from a WebOps to a DevOps mindset.
  3. Motivate and mentor team members while fostering career development and innovation.
  4. Build productive working relationships with management, team members, and other departments.
  5. Manage and deliver business priorities amidst process and technology change.
  6. Lead and support incident/problem resolution across IT services.
  7. Ensure web applications maintain a public availability target of 99.5%.
  8. Implement standards and procedures effectively and address capacity issues promptly.
  9. Stay up-to-date with future technology trends and articulate them to your team and management.

Requirements:

  1. Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  2. Experience in incident/problem resolution management.
  3. Proven ability in managing complex 24x7 high availability web application systems.
  4. A development background with experience in scripting, Linux systems, development languages, and databases is an advantage.
  5. Understanding of DevOps and Continuous Integration, Delivery methods, and techniques.
  6. Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and alerting.
  7. Ability to mentor and lead less experienced team members.
  8. Experience in ensuring the correct implementation of standards and procedures, including identifying capacity issues and initiating required changes.
  9. Knowledge of future technology directions.
  10. Experience in delivering high availability systems, targeting 99.5% availability.
  11. A proactive approach to incident resolution and a focus on rapid delivery of user-centric services.
  12. Experience in managing technical teams in high-pressure environments, fostering team development.
  13. Ability to design and deliver quality services to users.
  14. Understanding of Workonblockchain systems and processes is advantageous but not essential.

We offer a competitive salary range of £49,384 - £63,574, including a non-pensionable digital allowance of up to £10,000 based on skills and experience.
