Director of Advocacy

CARE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Advocacy to lead our policy and advocacy efforts in the United Kingdom. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective advocacy strategies that promote biblical principles and inform public policy solutions to some of the nation's most pressing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of biblical and evidence-based public policy positions, informed by high-quality research, that will be at the heart of CARE's advocacy campaigns.
  • Forge and sustain strategic partnerships and new collaborations in the public policy and affairs sphere.
  • Oversee the work of our Policy Team and lead our advocacy in the parliaments and assemblies of the United Kingdom.
  • Coordinate and oversee all of CARE's campaign work through our Campaign Steering Group.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in policy and advocacy, with a strong track record of success in influencing public policy.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of biblical principles and their application to public policy.
  • A genuine occupational requirement for this role is to be a Christian, as outlined in CARE's Statement of Faith.
