Job Description

Job Title: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our team at Compass Associates. As a key member of our Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of support services within our hospital, providing leadership for the effective management of all non-clinical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of operational strategies to maximize patient activity and increase revenue.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Clinical Services to create and deliver the strategic, operational, and business development plan for the hospital.
  • Identify business development opportunities, such as new services and the development of existing services.
  • Contribute to the hospital's business plan and support departmental managers in formulating departmental plans and objectives.
  • Ensure delivery of NHS activity according to RTT 18 week protocols.

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level or postgraduate leadership and management qualification.
  • Sound financial skills to read and interpret financial data.
  • Experience in analysis, reporting, and proposal development for capital assets and infrastructure investment.
  • Experience in commercial contract management, including property, funders of healthcare, and NHS standard contracts.
  • Knowledge of the service sector and systems and processes used for revenue management and collection, debtors management.
  • Proven ability to drive efficiency and optimization activities, including utilization, cost saving, telephony, and IT network systems oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements within hospital management.
  • Experience in recruitment, selection, and development of staff, including team management.
  • At least two years' experience in a healthcare setting and in a similar role advantageous.
