About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Manager to lead our Patient Safety activities with strategic direction, visionary leadership, and the development of effective frameworks. In this senior managerial position, you will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing our patient safety initiatives, ensuring that our organisation upholds the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Trust's Patient Safety activities, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain proactive and effective working relationships with Non-Executive Directors, Executive Directors, Commissioners, staff at all levels within the Trust, and other local health organisations.
  • Be a visible and accessible leader, providing essential support and guidance to healthcare professionals, managers, and staff in all aspects of patient safety.
  • Oversee the Trust's Serious Incidents requiring investigation process, ensuring a coordinated, systematic, transparent, and focused approach.
  • Manage the Learning from Mortality process, ensuring the Trust learns from every incident.
  • Lead the Duty of Candour process, promoting transparency and honesty in patient care.
  • Oversee the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide and external reviews, including Domestic Homicide Reviews.
  • Manage the staff within the Patient Safety function, fostering a supportive and effective team environment.
