The London Home Oxygen Service contract is responsible for managing a budget of circa £10 million annually on oxygen service provision to people in their homes. As a senior pharmacist, you will support the delivery of the SEL ICB medicines agenda and the London Home Oxygen Service agenda. You will work with our pharmacy leadership team to develop and implement strategies for improving patient care and outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of medicines optimisation plans across SEL.
  • Work with clinical networks to improve patient care and outcomes for diabetes, CVD, and respiratory medicines pathways.
  • Contribute to the SEL Integrated Medicines Optimisation Committee and the SEL Integrated Pharmacy Stakeholder Group.
  • Lead on SEL-wide work streams, including but not limited to work streams under the SEL Integrated Medicines Optimisation Committee and the SEL Integrated Pharmacy Stakeholder Group.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical/community pharmacy or equivalent additional experience.
  • Mandatory Continuing Professional Development to maintain fitness to practice and revalidation.
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
  • Knowledge of developing long term conditions prevention or management services and an understanding of personalised care.
  • Experience of managing budgets and business planning processes.
  • Experience of inter-agency working and the development of joint projects.
  • Knowledge/understanding of national and local policies and strategic issues relevant to medicines and pharmacy.
  • Experience of policy or proposal development.
  • Extensive community and/or hospital pharmacy experience or experience of providing prescribing support to primary care organisations or practices.
Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to identify, define, promote, communicate and achieve clear organisational values and goals, effective management processes, and rational and timely decision making.
  • Effectiveness in conflict resolution and management.
  • Knowledge of financial systems e.g. monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement.
  • Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation, working to tight and often changing timescales.
  • Interpreting national policy for implementation.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
