Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Assistant to join our team at the US Embassy London. As a Procurement Assistant, you will be responsible for managing and awarding low-value procurements, identifying cost-efficient sources, and ensuring that all goods and services acquired represent best value to the US Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and award low-value procurements less than $100,000
  • Identify cost-efficient sources and ensure best value to the US Government
  • Assist Procurement Analysts and Supervisor with complex procurements
  • Obtain quotes, draft letters, and upload electronic document files
  • Prepare information for Technical Evaluation Panels and witness the opening of bids
  • Prepare call-off orders from large contracts and monitor contract spend
  • Provide monthly usage reports to stakeholders
  • Monitor renewable orders and contracts and provide timely reminders
Requirements
  • 2 A levels/equivalent or U.S. High School Diploma plus one year of college, or an equivalent academic qualification
  • 2 years prior work experience in procurement, contracting, or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of conventional acquisition practices and UK and EU contracting laws
  • Excellent analytic and writing skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key external contracts
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
