Job Summary:
The Senior Contract Officer is an integral role within the Flood and Highway Resilience Team and assists the Principal Engineer in the delivery of the Council's Flood and Water Management duties. This position provides drainage and flood risk advice relating to developments and planning applications, working closely with statutory consultees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on drainage and flood risk management to support the delivery of the Council's Flood and Water Management duties.
- Work closely with the Principal Engineer to develop and implement flood risk management strategies.
- Undertake feasibility studies, design, and preparation of contract documentation for drainage and flood risk projects.
- Conduct site supervision of drainage and flood risk projects to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Develop and implement solutions to resolve drainage and flood risk issues across the borough.
- Promote good working relationships with members, colleagues, partners, clients, and contractors to ensure the service operates effectively and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable communication and organisational skills to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Commitment and self-motivation to identify and resolve issues within the drainage and flood risk industry.
- Ability to work on own initiative to develop and implement solutions to complex problems.
