Job Summary:

Speedy Hire Plc is seeking an experienced Rail Equipment Engineer to join our Managed Service Lighting division in Erith. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of rail tool equipment and lighting, ensuring they remain available for hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on rail tool equipment and lighting.
  • Ensure service schedules are up to date and repair faulty rail equipment as necessary.
  • Work additional hours for breakdowns and time-sensitive project work.
  • Maintenance often needs to be carried out overnight, so you will be expected to work nights, with shift payments included.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to use tools effectively.
  • Experience in lighting management.
  • Knowledge of lighting and power products.
  • Personal Track Safety certification.
  • ICI and BTA rail permits.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • A full, valid driving license.
  • A basic understanding of Health & Safety, relevant to the role.
  • A commitment to learn and develop.
  • The ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.
