Rail Equipment Engineer - Managed Service Lighting

Speedy Hire Plc, a leading provider of hire equipment and services, is seeking an experienced Rail Equipment Engineer to join our Managed Service Lighting division in Erith.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on rail tool equipment and lighting to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Ensure service schedules are up to date and repair faulty rail equipment as necessary to prevent downtime.
  • Work additional hours for breakdowns and time-sensitive project work, including overnight shifts.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to use tools effectively.
  • Experience in lighting management and knowledge of lighting and power products.
  • Personal Track Safety certification and ICI and BTA rail permits.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and hold a full valid driving license.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety, relevant to the role, and a commitment to learn and develop.
