We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Koura. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in a production or operations environment, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulatory position for an upper tier COMAH site. They will also have proven experience with management systems, including design, implementation, and auditing (ISO 9001/14001/18001 or equivalent).

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills, able to influence and motivate others to achieve our safety, health, and environmental goals. They will also have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and be able to provide expert advice to our management teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements for Koura UK operations, ensuring legislative compliance and leading the SHEQ&S teams to sustain and improve SHEQ&S standards.
  • To identify, define, and implement the requirements of SHEQ&S policies, standards, processes, and procedures to achieve and maintain world-class SHEQ&S performance.
  • To manage external interactions with regulatory bodies, such as the HSE, EA, BSI, and Koura corporate HSE functions, to represent Koura UK's position for SHEQ&S reporting, meetings, reviews, audits, inspections, and visits.
  • To manage all regulatory licenses and permits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • To maintain oversight and provide necessary direction and support for the process safety management (PSM) and behavioral safety improvement processes across the business.
  • To manage, via team, the deliverance of a technical training and competence management system, ensuring that technical and operational staff are trained and deemed competent to carry out their role using the latest thinking.
