Company Overview: Our client is a distinguished high-end restoration contractor located in South London, specializing in bespoke fibrous plastering finishes and heritage restoration services for both commercial and upscale residential properties throughout the UK.

Position Summary: As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in preparing precise estimates and quotations for restoration and fit-out projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and relevant documentation to fully understand the scope, materials, and labor requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and consultations as necessary to gather additional information and assess project conditions.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating techniques and software to quantify project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
  • Analyze pricing data and vendor quotes to identify the most cost-effective solutions while upholding quality standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals for prospective clients, incorporating detailed cost breakdowns, project timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to explore alternative materials, methods, and approaches to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Evaluate project risks and uncertainties, such as market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory changes, and incorporate these factors into cost estimates and contingency plans.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of experience in a cost estimation role, with a background in bespoke architectural projects, high-end residential or commercial fit-outs, and/or prestigious fit-out projects. Proficiency in construction estimating software is essential.
