We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to embark on a career in publishing within our dynamic publicity team. As a Publicity Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the team by ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Publicity Director and Children's Publicity Team with administrative tasks, including scheduling, invoice processing, and travel arrangements.
  • Support publicity campaigns by coordinating author travel, managing budgets, organizing mailings, and accompanying authors to events.
  • Take ownership of specific publicity initiatives to enhance your skills and contribute to the overall success of the department.
  • Manage departmental processes, including awards submissions, event planning, and internal communications.
  • Act as the primary contact for media inquiries, ensuring all communications are timely and professional.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal colleagues seeking publicity assistance.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in various media formats, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for crafting press materials and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • A passion for reading and staying informed about Bloomsbury's publications and industry trends.
