Job Summary
AIM - Advanced Innovative Manufacturing Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead CNC Machinist and CAD/CAM Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and managing CNC milling, turning, and multi-axis machines, particularly the Mazak Variaxis i-500 and Doosan DNM 6700 Fanuc-controlled systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate Mazak Variaxis i-500 / Doosan DNM 6700 Fanuc-controlled, 3-5 axis milling, and turning machines to produce component parts, ranging from basic to complex, for low-batch, high-mix production runs.
- CNC Programming: Create or modify basic CNC programs using G & M code to optimize machine performance and part production.
- Quality Assurance: Perform self-inspections of repeat work using appropriate inspection tools to ensure components meet quality standards.
- Maintenance: Conduct regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machinery to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective working relationships with peers and support teams.
- Documentation and Compliance: Monitor and document operational performance, providing feedback to the Team Lead.
Requirements
- CNC Machinery Proficiency: Extensive experience in operating CNC milling and turning machinery, particularly with Fanuc or Mazatrol control systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of machine tooling, inspection measuring equipment, and the ability to produce high-quality components with excellent attention to detail.
- CNC Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in creating and modifying CNC programs using G & M code.
- Engineering Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and data to ensure precise production of components.
- CAD/CAM Experience: Experience with industry-leading CAD/CAM software is highly desirable and considered a plus.
- Formal Qualification: Completion of a formal apprenticeship in machining or a related field, or equivalent vocational training and qualifications.
Working Hours and Environment
- Thirty-eight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).
- Fridays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
- Standard 21 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
