We are seeking a highly skilled Income Manager to join our team at CHP, responsible for managing income collection for a patch of mixed tenure households. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage rent, service charge, and debt collection on a mixed tenure patch, including rented homes, homeowners, garage licenses, and commercial properties.
  • Implement the principles of the pre-action protocol for rent arrears recovery, focusing on early contact with customers who fall behind with their rent or service charges.
  • Refer or signpost customers to internal and external services to help maximize benefit entitlement, employment support, debt management, and other tenancy support.
  • Assist customers in accessing DHP, homeless prevention loans, and our internal hardship fund.
  • Where rent arrears cannot be resolved with a customer, take appropriate recovery action, including issuing notices, commencing possession proceedings, and representing CHP at court.

Requirements

  • A good general standard of education, demonstrating a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Relevant experience, including experience of rent arrears debt recovery processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to use initiative and take a flexible approach in managing conflicting priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, precisely, and sensitively.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
