Job Title: Kitchen Line Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Line Manager to join our team at England Preserves. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all food products are prepared and packaged to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Receive and organize deliveries of food supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are stored and rotated properly.
- Food Preparation: Wash, peel, and prepare produce ingredients, using commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, special knives, kettles, and industrial blenders.
- Inventory Control: Review kitchen inventory to determine needed items, unload fresh and frozen supplies, and organize the stockroom and freezer.
- Hygiene and Cleaning: Ensure the quality assurance and food safety element is maintained at all times, clean kitchen appliances as needed, and follow health and safety protocols.
- Cooking Times: Monitor cooking times and ensure that all food products are cooked to the correct temperatures.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with basic kitchen preparations, put away deliveries correctly, and line manage the kitchen assistant, coaching, training, and developing to appropriate standards.
- Produce Management: Ability to follow recipe and work alongside the kitchen assistant, absorb opportunities to work alone without supervision where appropriate, and manage the scheduling of the kitchen.
- House Keeping: Excellent time keeping, expected to adhere to deadlines as a key deliverable, ability to prioritize and meet key deliverables, accountable for time management to manage production runs within the team, flexibility as a core mindset to work as a team and undertake other duties as needed, give direction to achieve operational deadlines within schedule, and overview of machinery production line and ability to use and work with own initiative.
Requirements:
- Effective communication skills.
- Education: GCSE's English and Maths to pass or above.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable working on feet and physical lifting.
- Previous food handling experience.
- Diligence: Focused on meeting quotas and audit requirements.
- Adherence to health and safety practices.
- High personal hygiene standards.
- Experience of leading others in a team environment and demonstration of being a team player.
