Warrington, Warrington, United Kingdom Warrington Borough Council Full time

About Our Team

Warrington Borough Council's Educational Psychology Service is a dynamic and supportive team that shares core values and practices in a variety of ways. As a relatively small service, we are undergoing significant growth and development in response to increased demand.

Our Service

We are seeking experienced or soon-to-graduate Trainee Educational Psychologists to join our team. The positions offer flexibility for individuals who prefer flexible and/or part-time hours. Our team consists of experienced psychologists and newer entrants to the profession, former graduates who we helped train and who joined us to start their careers.

Our Focus

Our service makes a valuable contribution to the high-quality provision for children and young people in Warrington through preventative work with schools and the community. We have strong links to Speech and Language, the Child Development Centre, the Virtual School for Children in Care, Early Years providers, and other services. Our current systemic focus is Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA), ELSA training/supervision, and Restorative Practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Psychologists committed to offering the highest quality service to children and young people, families, schools, services, and the local authority.
  • An ability to apply psychology creatively to maximize impact and contribute to Warrington Council's priority areas.
  • Committed and hardworking team players who are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Psychologists that are good generalists in the first instance with interests and experiences across a range of areas. We encourage and support our team to develop areas of specialist interests and to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Fully qualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologists, or those in training. We are happy to discuss a contracted trainee position for successful applicants upon the successful completion of their doctoral training.

What We Offer

  • A close, supportive team of Educational Psychologists.
  • On-going CPD for areas of interest.
  • Regular supervision.
  • A hybrid working model, with ICT equipment to support remote working.
  • A recently refurbished town centre office space, offering excellent kitchen facilities, spaces to meet colleagues, and book rooms for meetings/training.
  • Car parking facilities opposite the office.
  • An experienced Business Support team.

Requirements

  • DBS clearance is required and the cost will be covered as part of the recruitment process.
  • A permanent contract with a salary of £42,811 - £52,440 (Plus up to 3 SPA points).
  • The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
  • Warrington Borough Council is a Disability Confident employer.
