Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative underwriting leader to join our AUM team as Chief Underwriting Officer. As a key member of our Executive Leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting strategy for AUM, one of the largest organically grown MGA businesses in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the underwriting strategy for AUM, driving growth and innovation in the business.
  • Lead the ACT underwriting team, collaborating with UK, EMEA, and Global Commercial Risk leaders to develop and implement underwriting solutions.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks and recommending necessary adjustments to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Partner with internal teams and third-party providers to deliver best-in-class solutions for clients and brokers.
  • Develop and implement digital and algorithmic underwriting initiatives to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Build and lead a high-performing underwriting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of underwriting experience in short or long tail business, with a deep understanding of insurance products and market dynamics.
  • Portfolio management experience, with a focus on North American large and CAT exposed property and casualty.
  • Strong governance and regulatory acumen, with experience in exposure management and aggregate controls.
  • Ability to drive innovation and growth, with a passion for modernizing underwriting practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and lead inclusive and diverse teams.
